TLDR — Fabrk AI’s Agent Engine has launched! You can now discover, build, test and deploy custom AI agents (chatbots that perform actions) with zero code. All aboooard!

Like most projects, Fabrk AI started with humble beginnings. We started with just a handful of tools used to help speed up AI development. But over time it was knitted into a powerful framework for AI Agent design and deployment.

We’ve been heads down for a while but are now ready to share Fabrk AI with some early friends. Thanks in advance for checking us out. Time to build that AI Agent you’ve been thinking about!

What are Agents? 👥

The term “Agents” in AI is used loosely to describe many things. With Fabrk AI, Agents are AI chatbots that actually perform actions as part of the chat. Here are a couple of examples:

Get and summarize a Hacker News post

Send an email with summarized info

Schedule an event

You can see from these example the Agent is perform tasks in the background using “tools” — functions that can do any number of tasks.

Many of you have experimented with your favorite AI chatbot and after the immediate awe has worn off you are left thinking: “Ok great, now wouldn’t it be great if it could actually send the email, book the flight or schedule the event.”

That is the core problem Fabrk AI is solving — making AI as useful as possible as quickly as possible (but not quicker 😉).

Why an Agent “Engine”? 🚆

So what’s up with the “Engine?” What does that mean?

Fabrk AI lets you discover, build, test and deploy custom AI Agents in seconds, with no coding (don’t worry we also have an api). In that way it’s an “Engine” that powers your development and deployment. A one stop shop.

For the technical readers the analogy is that Fabrk AI is the “Github + Heroku for AI Agents.” For the non-technical, think “Squarespace for AI.” The Engine is powered by a core set of tools that get you moving quickly.

How the Engine is Powered 🔥

Discover

Github is the example here. When software devs need to jump start their development they look to GitHub for templates. With a quick clone, you have an entire “repository” to start from and don’t have to build the boilerplate yourself. You are starting on second base (too many metaphors? ⚾).

Discovery is core to Fabrk AI. If someone builds an Agent that works well they can publish it for the world to fork and use. This lets others build on top of their work and progress is accelerated.

As Fabrk AI grows, discovery will be a key component of driving increasing value to users. More shared Agents leads to more opportunities to find building blocks. This leads to more people building useful (and hopefully public) Agents. And the cycle continues…

Build

Discover can only get you so far. Once you grab a useful Agent off the shelf you will likely need to adapt it to meet your use case.

Fabrk AI has simple but powerful tools to build and iterate quickly. Quickly add custom tools, tweak context with versioning and run “Persona” agents against your Agent for rapid cycles.

All these features deserve their own deep dive —coming soon! Needless to say Fabrk AI has all the tools you need to get an highly performant Agent up and running in minutes.

Test

Evaluations are core to AI development. How do you know if the Agent is doing the right thing? Evaluations help you keep track.

Fabrk AI has “auto evals.” These use the AI model to evaluate itself. With a button click the evals are generated from the Agent’s context. You can then update or add to these evaluations.

You can specify how often the evals are run. To start you’ll want to run them often. Once the Agent is deployed you can run them on a percentage of messages to make sure performance stays high.

Deploy

After all the building and running evals it’s time to get the Agent in front of users. It’s time to deploy!

With other tools you are left to tackle this step yourself. With Fabrk AI you have several options.
